GNRBA and Farmbot Webinar

Farmbot was established in Sydney in 2014 and is a leading Australian Agtech company. Their Saas Platform gathers data points via a unique IoT device that puts Farmers “in the know” on their water assets with near real time reporting on water levels, trends and alerts anywhere in the world.

The founders combined knowledge of farming, the IT industry and financial markets in the agriculture sector are core to bringing Farmbot’s vision to life:

Provide farmers with a smart, cost effective and easy to use solution to better manage their most valuable resource – water. The farming experience across our executive team allows us to intimately understand the everyday hardships that farmers are faced with.

GNRBA had been using Farmbots to monitor the freezers at the Bait Facility in Kalgoorlie. Listen to the GNRBA and pastoralists experience with Farmbot via the link below.

The Future Drought Fund’s Helping Regional Communities Prepare for Drought – Small Network Grants will be used by GNRBA to support the Goldfields Nullarbor community to be more prepared for, and resilient to, the impacts of drought through the delivery of two workshops focusing on pastoral drought resilience that will facilitate field days, conferences, forums, summits, and seminars that facilitate professional, social and community connection to build understanding of drought and climate change associated risks.

Two workshops are planned; one on November 13th 2024 at Morapoi Station, Kookynie and one on the Nullarbor in March 2025. Some of the speakers are; Richard Marver (Contour Consulting), Richard Brake (Brake Consulting) and Louise O’Neill (FarmLifeFitness).

Governance Day 17/08/2023

Over 30 pastoralists attended the Governance Day with Caroline Robinson, 150 Square. GNRBA was able to develop outcomes based on the response from attendees. Attendees offering transparency in their business models, consistent questions, engagement with Caroline, retention at event until the end of day and response to GNRBA post activity.
Attendees have been seeking outside advice for poor governance in their business, succession planning, accounting advice and financial advice since the Governance Day. It is widely talked about, and they ask GNRBA to bring Caroline (150 Square) back for another day as soon as budget and time permits.
